TaalMala is not free software. When you purchase a license of TaalMala software, either on your PC or mobile device, you are purchasing a license to use it on your device, subject to our licensing policy outlined on this page. By installing the licensed version of TaalMala on your device, you are explicitly agreeing with these terms and conditions.
- Validity:
Different TaalMala licenses have different validity periods. Some licenses are perpetual and some are available on a recurring subscription basis.
- Portability:
TaalMala license purchased on one platform/OS is not portable to another platform/OS. The license you purchase is valid only for the platform on which you purchased. For example, you cannot purchase a license on Android platform and expect it to work on iOS, if you change your device from Android to iOS. See this FAQ for details.
- Types of licenses:
Android: TaalMala on Android devices can be licensed in the following ways.
- One-time payment: Google Play Store License, purchased from Google Play Store (discontinued from November 1, 2021)
- One-time payment: Local License purchased from TaalMala.com (discontinued from November 1, 2021)

Note that the above differences are applicable only to the Android version of the app.

Windows: TaalMala on Windows must be licensed from our Buy Now page.
- Replacing your PC/device:
If you purchase a new PC and/or Android/iOS device, you can transfer your license from your old device to your new device.
If your original purchase is from Google Play Store or Apple App Store, the license will be automatically detected as long as you are signing into your new device with the same credentials used while purchasing the original license. In case of a local license, normally, we do provide substitute license for new device for valid reasons such as upgrading your computer or Android device, as long as you do not ask for it "very frequently". See the procedure below for requesting a new local license.
- Upgrading your Device:
Although we test every release of TaalMala on a large number of devices (both Android and iOS), we cannot guarantee that the app will continue to work on every device, because there are thousands of varieties of devices in the market. That is why we provide the trial edition of the app, which you should try on your device before purchasing a license. If you upgrade your device and the app stops working, we cannot be held responsible. We will provide assistance to get it working on your new device, but we cannot guarantee that it will work. If it does not work on your new device, your only option will be to continue using it on your older device.
- Upgrading your OS version:
Same policy as above applies to new OS versions (Android updates, iOS updates etc.). Although we test every release of TaalMala on a large number of OS versions (both Android and iOS), we cannot guarantee that the app will continue to work on every new OS update on every device, because there may be changes in the OS that affect every device differently. When you purchase a license for the app, you are purchasing it with explicit understanding that the app version you are licensing works on your current device's current OS version. There is no implicit or explicit guarantee that the app will continue to work with future versions of the OS. If you upgrade your OS or install Android/Windows/iOS updates and the app stops working, we cannot be held responsible. We will provide assistance to you to get it working on the new OS version, but we cannot guarantee it. If it does not work on new OS version, your only option will be to revert the OS update (it may not be even possible and we can't help in such cases). Therefore, if you are concerned about TaalMala not working on the update, you should not install OS updates.
- If you purchased TaalMala app license from Google Play Store or Apple App Store, you are bound by the respective Stores' terms and conditions, in addition to the terms and conditions listed on this page.
Common License Issues and Solutions
"14-day Trial Expired" Message or Playback Stopping after 15 minutes
If you have not purchased a license for TaalMala app on your mobile device, this behavior is expected.
If you have purchased a license for TaalMala app, see the following two sections to refresh/revalidate your license. If you have purchased your license from Google Play Store or Apple App store, TaalMala periodically validates your license with Google or Apple. The app will warn you a few days in advance if the license validation is unsuccessful (typically because you have not connected the device to Internet for a long time). In such case, you may see a message "14-day Trial Expired" or the app will only allow you to play for 15 minutes every 2 hours (depending upon version). If this happens despite having purchased a license, please read the following paragraphs.
If you purchased a license from Google Play Store prior to September 2015, the current app available on Google Play Store will not work on your device. If you are one of such customers, please see the section "Android Google Play Purchases before September 2015" below for the procedure.
Reinstall or Revalidate License purchased from Google Play Store or Apple App Store
If you purchased a license to TaalMala app on your Android device via Google Play Store, follow the steps below to revalidate/reinstall. Ensure that you sign into your device using the same Google or Apple ID used while purchasing and remain connected to the Internet.
- If there is non-working installation of the app on your device, please uninstall it from the device.
- Most important #1: Keep your device connected to a solid internet connection throughout the procedure below.
- Most important #2: Ensure you have signed in to the device using only one Google ID or Apple ID. This ID must be exactly same as the one you used while purchasing the license from the store.
- Download and install TaalMala from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Start the app while being connected to the Internet. Keep your device connected to the internet until the license gets detected (2-3 minutes max). On TaalMala Android app, you will get a message on screen confirming installation of purchased upgrades.
- For TaalMala on Android only: If the license is not detected, go to "Settings", scroll to the bottom of the screen and press on the License Refresh button. Choose "I purchased license from Play Store" and wait for the license to get refreshed from Google servers. You will get a message on screen confirming installation of purchased upgrades.
- For TaalMala on iOS only: If the license is not detected, go to "Buy" and click on "Restore" button, and wait for a few minutes until the license refreshes.
- If the license is still not detected, please restart your device and repeat the above procedure.
- If the license is still not detected, please confirm you are signed into your device with the same Google or Apple ID which you used while purchasing the license. You should double-check this by referring to your Play Store or App Store payment receipt. This is the most common cause of license not getting detected. Please sign in with the correct account and repeat the procedure above. Please note that TaalMala requires the Google or Apple ID on the device to exactly match the ID used while purchasing the license and it is recommended that it is the only account which is used to sign into the device (Multiple accounts or developer/sandbox accounts on the device may cause problems).
- For TaalMala on Android only: If license is still not detected, find and delete the folder TaalMala from your device's SD card using any File Explorer app, restart TaalMala and follow the above
procedure again.
- For TaalMala on Android only: If license is still not detected, clear the Google Play cache by following the instructions on this page.
- If none of the above steps work, go back to the OS version on which you purchased the license. Although we test with most OS versions and devices, there could be incompatibilities which we cannot resolve. In that case, your only option is to revert to the OS version which was working. Please search on Internet on how to downgrade the OS version (may not be even possible).
If you purchased a license from Google Play Store prior to September 2015, the current app available on Google Play Store will not work on your device. If you are one of such customers, please see the section "Android Google Play Purchases before September 2015" below for the procedure.

This method of licensing the TaalMala app has been discontinued, starting November 1, 2021. If you purchased a license from our web site prior to November 1, 2021, we will continue to support this license. However, any future upgrades must be purchased via Google Play Store subscription.

Android Google Play Purchases before September 2015
If you purchased the "TaalMala Classic/Full" or "TaalMala Basic" app license from Google Play Store before September 2015, you bought either "TaalMala Classic" or "TaalMala Basic" from Google Play Store, which are technically different apps from the currently listed "TaalMala" app on Play Store. In that case, do not install the app "TaalMala" directly from Play Store, because your older license will not be detected by our new app. Customers who purchased before September 2015 should obtain the app installer for older version by contacting us and providing the information below. We will then share the download link with you. Once you download and install from the download link, your license will automatically get detected. When contacting us, please include the following information (all details are required):
- Your complete name used when purchasing license
- Google payment receipt
- Your license purchase details - Edition purchased, date (if you don't have the Google receipt)
- Ensure that you send the email from the same email address used when purchasing. Emails coming from other addresses will not be responded. If, for some reason, you cannot write from the original email account, please explain the reason and send other identification details.
- Google ID (email address) which you use for signing into your device.
Any emails with missing information will not be entertained or responded to.
