TaalMala is a (Microsoft Windows) PC based Tabla/Pakhawaj accompaniment software for music enthusiasts and professionals. Although the software
has been developed with an Indian Classical Musician in mind, it is useful for any musician who wishes to use Tabla
or Pakhawaj (Drums used in North Indian/Hindustani music). TaalMala has a highly intuitive advanced graphical user interface (GUI) that can be used to
construct virtually any Taal (rhythm cycle). Each Bol (stroke) in the Taal can be composed
individually by specifying the stroke to be played on Tabla (the main/pitch drum) and Dagga (the bass drum).
For example, a common stroke named "Dhaa" can be composed by specifying the stroke "Na" on Tabla and the stroke
"Ge" on Dagga. The emphasis and duration of each stroke is adjustable. Once a Taal (rhythm) has been constructed, TaalMala generates
the sounds and plays it in a loop. The user can change the beat period (tempo) of the cycle (even when the Taal
is playing).

TaalMala is very useful to those Indian Classical Musicians for whom the Tabla/Pakhawaj accompaniment is a must,
but hard to find for practice/rehearsals. Using TaalMala as his/her personal Tabla accompanyist, the musician can now
concentrate on the music skills than trying to find an accompanyist for the practice sessions.
TaalMala is distributed in four different edition:

TaalMala is a software that satisfies the Indian Musicians' demand for a versatile Tabla/Pakhawaj accompaniment software with
realistic (non-synthetic) sounds at affordable price. There are stand-alone electronic musical instruments available today
that will accomplish tasks similar to those of TaalMala, but for all the features that TaalMala supports, the cost of such
electronic instruments can be as high as US $450. Most of them also lack the inherent flexibility and programmability
offered by the software solution at a fraction of the price of the electronic instrument. The biggest advantage of TaalMala
is low cost software with natural and customizable sounds. Buy TaalMala today and never wait
for the Tabaljii (Tabla accompanyist) to show up.
